Kindermusik is so much more than just music!

With more than 25 years experience in early childhood development, Kindermusik is the world's most trusted name in musical learning. BUT WE ARE SO MUCH MORE THAN JUST MUSIC …our age appropriate curricula challenges your child mentally, physically, socially, and promotes creative growth.

VILLAGE

Newborn to 18 months+

A place for you and your baby where all the little miracles are captured, magnified, and celebrated through music, movement, touch and sounds. A place where someone helped you peek inside your baby's miraculous little body and brain. In class you will experience a variety of music which builds strong neural networks in a baby's forming mind. You will play along with age-appropriate instruments to enhance a sense of rhythm and steady beat. You will experience what it is like to be in a classroom full of baby and adult pairs dancing together to help with strengthening baby's muscles needed to crawl and walk. You will play peekaboo, rock to lullabies, and much more! And every time you leave class you take home treasures from the day and inspiring ideas to add this joy into your daily routine.

OUR TIME

18 months+ to 3 years

We'll start with easily imitative words and motions then gradually introduce new games and songs that help a toddler learn to control her body, speak her mind, and guide her on that all-important search for independence. In class, as you play instruments, sing, move, and explore, you'll uncover an engaging musical world while building your child's confidence, self-control and communications skills. Class activities include: instrument exploration and ensemble skill development, vocal play, exploration time, story-time and early literacy, movement activities, quality together time and expert advice as a Kindermusik educator explains how our musically based activities enhance your child's complete development. With the home materials, the learning continues at home with your child's best teacher—you!

IMAGINE THAT!

3 years to 5 years

Your pre-schooler will build a musical and verbal vocabulary through storytelling, active movement, and dramatic expression. In a musical classroom that respects your child's individual learning style, you'll watch as he becomes self-sufficient in a room full of friends. Class activities include: pretend play activities which are integrated with music, vocal development, storytelling, listening, movement and literacy aspects. Activities include a mixture of musical genres and styles and provide a setting for your child to explore his many voices and to use a “singing voice”. Preschoolers are learning to be self-sufficient in a group setting of peers while many times still needing emotional security provided by a parent. Caregivers participate in the last 10-15 minute of class. Home materials ensures the learning continues at home with your child's best teacher-you!

YOUNG CHILD

5 years to 7 years

Using a small-group approach to music education, Kindermusik for the Young Child provides a pressure-free class where your child can develop a strong musical foundation by learning the concepts, language, notation, and vocabulary of music and its greatest composers. At Piano and Organ School of Music we cater for your developing musician, with a curricular that is a developmentally appropriate transition where your child can musically succeed before taking on more formal instruction. The program is designed to prepare the young child who is eager for their first experiences with musical symbols and instrument discovery but is not yet ready for formal lessons and traditional music reading with an instrument.

The object of Kindermusik for the Young Child isn't necessarily to make your child a musician. Instead, Kindermusik begins the musical learning that will enrich every life, whether it leads your child to a choir or band, or the keys of a family piano or simply develops a life-long love of music.

In class you will experience: singing and vocal development using the language of professional musicians and composers and getting ready to read and write simple rhythm patterns. You'll see your child dance expressively to music. They will learn melodic notation and identify pitches on the treble clef, plus rhythmic notation. Eventually they will even compose their own music. Your child will learn to identify a range of orchestral instruments and gain an awareness and knowledge of composers. They will explore playing authentic percussion, string, pre-keyboard and woodwind instruments – exploring your child to many choices for future musical study!
